R&P: If you could press your own custom record, what would it be like?
By record, I mean vinyl record. Nowadays, you could create your own CDs with whatever songs you want on there, and maybe even do some artwork. Even further in the past, you could still do mix tapes, but once you think about it, when was there ever a time that you could press your own custom records unless it was your own album or if you’re a rich producer of some sort? This is pretty much a question for you guys to have fun a be creative. You don’t have to answer any of these questions listed below, but here’s a couple examples of what you could mention if you get stuck or something or to be even more creative:-What are the songs on there?-What is the title of the the record/album?-What does the cover look like?-Is there anything special about 45 Record Disks about the record?i.e. wax, red, purple, colored, plain black, picture disk, glow in the dark-How many RPM is it?i.e. 33 1/3, 45, 78, your own custom number-What is the size?i.e. 7″, 10″, 12″, 9″ (like NIN’s Survivalism), you own custom number-What is the theme of the record?-Is there anything special about the theme?i.e. your favorite songs, the worst songs ever made compilation, a song to fit all your moods during mood swings-Is there any bonus material included with the record?-What message (or catalog #) is etched on the center of the record? There’s a couple rulse though: it can’t be more than one record, it has to have a reasonable amount of songs on it for an average record, go ahead an star this if you want and share the fun with others, and have funBQ: custom CD or mix tape?78rpms, those are old fashioned records usually used back before the 60s. The spacing between 33 and 45rpms is a little different and one of them (33 I believe) has the grooves more compressed together. My record would be a simple black vinyl record, with a white, hand written label. It would be a normal 12″ 33rpm LP just to fit a couple of songs that I know I could survive with in different moods and some that were very important to my life. I would add:a1, Minor Threat – Minor Threata2, Last Nite – The Strokesa3, Roots Bloody Roots – Sepulturaa4, Shut the Door – Fugazib1, Substitute – The Whob2, Welcome to the Jungle – Guns n’ Rosesb3, Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvanab4, Spooky Couch – Albert Hammond Jr.I’m pretty sure there’s a few songs I left out that I would like to add, but whatever, I don’t think I’ll remember until a few days later.
