The biggest question I ask about these cables, are they worth the premium charged above more normal cables? The key to me is the lower end 100 series Monster cables, Monster S100-I-12 Standard 100 1/4-Inch Instrument Cable (12 Feet). The answer is mixed, and depends on what you are looking for.The cable ends are very heavy, they are metal and do unscrew. In some ways this is probably good, they feel good in your hand plugging and unplugging. The jacks are gold plated and look like they would last a lifetime. On the other hand, the series 100 plugs are a molded plastic end, with a good bit of flex to them, and they are lighter weight. So the choice is, heavy, shiny gold; or light weight, gray/black? For me, I like the heft of these cables. Construction-wise these are likely lifetime cables. Check out the pictures I’ve posted. The metal housing screws into the jack. Ninja Joe, while I was in Alaska I met a geologist and he Rock Rare cut a piece of the rock you had in your picture. The darkest blue color is the most valuable, the greenish color is the most prominent, and the black is the softest. Usually the rock breaks at the black color. I will contact him and find the real name of this rock – it is rare and very hard to find because of the outer color.

I typically only write reviews when products are very good or very bad. In this case, felt a duty to provide kudos to the HiFi Works rock speakers. I use them in a garden (hiden by large hosta plants) and think they sound very very good. I am an audiophile and have a high-end indoor system, and I think these speakers are very solid…for the price, they are a great buy.
Speakers arrived on time and packaged well. Easy to install. I have a 525 sq/ft patio and these sound great for what we use them for, which is primarily background or easy listening music.
These are great speakers for $31.00 each. The sound quality is very good, but will require an amplifier of some power to drive them. I use a Pyle 2×40 watt stereo amplifier and the volume control is over 1/2 for a good sound level. They have very good bass response. The people complaining about the sound quality are probably trying to drive these speakers with a low powered amplifier and getting no bass and a tinny sound. The leads are about 3 feet long with bare wires. I will need to add about 30 feet of 16 gage speaker wire to my indoor amplifier. Don’t forget to make a water tight connection to the speaker leads. I live in snow country and I hope these speakers stand up to the harsh outside conditions.
Sound is pretty good for outdoor speakers. We have our right next to a rock water fall and the speakers are easily heard over the water and when they’re off they blend right in as if they’re not even there. A word of CAUTION… the outdoor quality speaker wire cost us about 50 cents a foot (aka 100 ft = $50) other than that, quality exceeded price.
Had mine for 11 months. Started making intermittent noise, which would go away if I jiggled the ends. Became less intermittent and more continuous. I am sending it back for a replacement by Monster under its Lifetime Warranty. Hopefully the replacement lasts longer. Meanwhile, I will play through my 20-year old Whirlwind cable, until the new Monster Rock cable arrives. Disappointed in NJ!
Is a great cable, no fuzz or static, difficult to have it broken or damaged. Almoust imposible as a matter of fact.
