I am a rabid collector of mp3 players. I recently found this model at a pawnshop.
Considering the plethora of different mp3 players out there, this one has the advantage of giving you a native 30 gig hard drive built in. So you can pack more into this jukebox.
I really like the “soft” approach Philips came up with their screen graphics, it does not blare at you, and it sets a nice mood to navigate through the menu. Although the screen is smaller than the current “classic” types of iPod, it still gives excellent graphics for pictures. And as the bumper crop of iPod clones do, it has the FM radio and Mic in it for recording your own.
A con about this unit is that it is not Mac compatible. Also the backplate is aluminum which is suspectible to denting. And the entire faceplate is plastic which is suspectible to scratching.
Over all I rate this unit real good. It is a good alternative to the iPod.
I have a Philips HDD6330/17 which has a headphone jack and the bottom connection (which Hdd6330 30gb Jukebox i think is unique to philips). In my car I have a Pioneer DEH-P770MP; I am not sure what inputs/outputs it has. I did some searching and did not see any product for a direct connection. Does anyone know if there is one? If there is not one, can I connect a different way?
