Thank you my friend for sharing those wonderful memories you belong like me in what I call THE LUCKY GENERATION I often tell my kids(not little anymore) that in those days we had real pleasure doing all the things you mention & more like chasing butterfly’s & polishing my school shoes for going out they were the only pair I had and a pair of runners and one pair of denim overalls…and you know what I was a happy kid and grew up to be a happy grown up to say that my nick name is BUBBLES…I hate how fast all that changed and wish that we could turn back the time I raised my kids simple not because I couldn’t afford thing but because I wanted them to appreciate things in life to have respect & to be happy with simple things…and I must say I did a bloody good job they all turn out fine caring loving simple adults hard working & very giving with others who need. You know when I got married I some of the presents I received were tea towels & others like 2 pillows cases…now newly weds expect to have a plasma as a gift in every room…by the way every year for Halloween I accompany the children of my street when they go Trick or treat as I don’t like them going along & I love seeing them enjoy something so simple…Happy halloween to all!!!!

I can completely relate. Just like you, I was brilliant up through the 8th grade. I got my first D in the 10th grade, my first F in the 11th, and by senior year I could hardly get out of bed in the morning. I’ve had some successes in my adult life, but I haven’t been able to bear to stick to any one thing for more than a year or two. I’ll be seeing a doctor next month, and looking into Adderall possibly. Good luck to you, I hope you get things figured out. Life is hard when the brain doesn’t cooperate with the aspirations.

I’m not sure, but I think at one time Yahoo! was an innovator. They try, but I think their designers have lost touch with the people who use their products. I once saw on a web page that they were interested in feedback (not problems) and they referenced this form:http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/music/general.htmlBTW, I agree with most of your comments. I also think that DRM has to go. It f…. up trying to enjoy the music. Have a good one. :)

Oh boy, lots of red flags there for ADHD. In fact, just about every sentence is a red flag. But only a professional evaluation that considers all possibilities (anxiety, etc.) can tell you.I just wrote on my blog about the basics of a professional evaluation for ADHD, AND there is another post that links to a top ADHD expert (Umesh Jain, MD, Ph,D.) who leads the viewer throrugh an excellent interactive screening quiz. (A screening is what you do to see if an evaluation might be in order. It’s the preliminary step.)If you have ADHD — or something else — you really owe it to yourself to find out why an otherwise bright person keeps tripping on that invisible banana peel. Most likely, there are solid, evidence-based strategies to help. I’ve been advocating in this field (as a volunteer and journalist) for 10 years now, and in the last year there’s been an explosion of good info, after years of resistance. I think it has to do with the economy tanking. ;-) People are being forced to face their challenges, it seems.Best of luck,Gina Pera, authorIs It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.?
