This is my second lens for my Olympus EP1. My other lens is the f1.7/20mm. Played around with the 45-200mm last night for a bit. Have yet to take it out on a shooting spree. Initial thoughts: The telephoto movement from 45 to 200 seemed hard/rough. I felt like I had to use more force to move out to the 200mm setting than I should. Movement back from 200 to 45 was nice and easy. It seems like the action is getting a little easier as I use it. Wait and see is the strategy there.
Packaging was nice. Nothing taped or glued together. Just open and start shooting.
As far as the 200mm goes: maybe I just don’t understand camera optics very well, but I have a Nikkor 180mm lens that I have put on my EP1 as well. They look to me to give about the same amount of telephoto magnification. The 200mm is 400 in 35mm equivalent. What does the Nikkor 180 do when you put it on a less than full frame sensor? Is it giving me 360mm?
Great Product.

I used these to set up my router and computer system in my new home. They were as good a quality as the ones I paid much more for. Not one broke. They come packaged in a plastic bag, I would have preferred a box. They keep spilling out but that is not a real problem to complain about. No failures to date. Just make sure you use a good crimper. The crimper plays a bigger roll in making good connections. Fast delivery as well
I’ve made hundreds of network cables in the past. I always thought that RJ45 heads were all the same. This batch is rubbish. Every cable I’ve made suffers from some sort of fault or short. Wiggle the cable and you lose connection. At first I though it was my crimper (which has worked for me for years) and tried another one. Nope. So in a fit of desperation, I went down to Home Depot last night and picked up a bag of 10 which cost me as much as this bag of 50. Snipped off the heads of the first cable giving me trouble. Put the Home Depot heads on, and it works like a charm. The remainder of this bag went in the trash, and I’ll be looking for another brand/vendor. Apparently, you *do* get what you pay for. At least I didn’t waste a lot of money. (Although I did waste a lot of time.) Don’t make the same mistake.
Note: If I look closely at these heads compared to the ones I got from Home Depot, I can see the Home Depot “teeth” – which need to pierce the 8 strands – are much sharper and there are 3 teeth, compared to this set which are shallower and have only 2 teeth. I think this is part of the problem. They aren’t making a good connection with the wire. I can’t be bothered with trying to force a deeper connection, maybe jimmying something into my crimper to tighten them down even more. This crimper is good quality and has served me for years. It’s not the problem here.
In my past I’ve specified many cabling jobs and researched all of the ingredients required for a good job.
You can use the best cable, switches, etc. but if you have a crappy plug you have compromised the entire job. I’ve seen it and it makes no sense to skimp on any one part of a good cabling job.
I always used AMP part number 5-554720-4
It’s for a solid (never use stranded copper) CAT5 and above cable and whether the job specified all 8 wires or not I always specified that all 8 wires be terminated (TS568B) because that’s what the plug’s crimp (strain relief) was designed for.
Also, don’t just pick up your crimper and assume it’s OK. Test it. I’ve seen contractors use the same dye for years and the teeth wear down. They fail their cable test (with a definite pattern across all closets) and the last place they look is their crimp tools. Ethernet is somewhat forgiving but always go for the best you can get.
Use a good crimp tool and dye designed for that crimp tool. I always specified AMP because I wanted to be consistent across the plug, crimp tool, and dye. Contractors used to crap their pants when they read in my RFPs that I was specifying the crimp tools, dyes, and plugs (and Cable Testing Tools) but you have to if you want the best consistent results.
Whatever. Do your homework, find a good system, and move on to the next level of cabling.
none of them fit in any of my ethernet ports!, they are very tight and won’t clip no matter how hard I push.
I had an HP1215 printer and the Black Cartridge exploded inside the printer after it had been printing for only a couple of weeks of very light use. The ink flooded the main board and shorted everything out. The ink leaked out of the printer and made a huge mess. So even though the price of the cartridge was great – it ruined my printer.
The turnaround from order to receiving was incredibly quick. I did not use express shipping.
I received new cartridges as indicated, not recycled.
The price was unbeatable.
I will be using this company again for my computer/printing needs.
Refurbished cartridges as GOOD AS NEW ones. No problems at all with either the black or color inks. We recommend these for anyone who is Earth / eco friendly. The company we purchased ours from is eco-friendly in their packaging and principles, plus they have wonderful customer service.
very satisfied with product , prompt delivery, and functional. I don’t do massive printing jobs and this is quite adequate for my needs.I must add that I bought the refurbished set.
What more can I say? A little item which does what it is supposed to do. I used it to link two short cables rather than buy a new cable.
If you need to connect two ethernet cables because of a longer run (and don’t want to re-run a longer cable) this is the adapter for you. It works well and solved my distance problem.
It’s a good connector to extend your high speed internet cable. I bought two.
I needed to connect a spare PC to my router (wireless not available) a span of about 18 feet around the perimeter of the room. I looked at buying a new cable from MicroCenter, but the cost of $35 for a 25 foot cable seemed a bit much. SInce I already had a couple of 14 foot cables, the connector seemed to be the best cost-effective solution. The connector seems to be of good quality, and using the two cables I already had is working well. I can’t notice any performance or speed issues that would be related to using two separate cables and a connector.
don’t be fooled by “name brand” wires. you can’t beat the quality or price
Well first of all the cable isn’t blue. Not that I’m biased on that but it seems to be tradtional -blue cable indicated Ethernet and conformance to certain fire codes to designate somethng or other.
My complaint is with the connectors. On both ends when the cables are new they stick. In my first try with a new one, I got it into my laptop with some heft needed. When it came time to go portable it was almost impossible to remove. After I got it removed by gentle twisting, lots of cursing, and other technical magc, it did come out. On the same laptop I then tried some old Ethernet cable – the blue kind – and one click you’re in, one you’re out. Had the same problem with another cable of the same type on the router. Not fun. To remove this cable takes muscle and/or cunning. Patience works best, like you have that during a install. Right.
But – the ones at Wal-Mart didn’t look any better and were a lot more expensive. 2X. I won’ buy another of these. If you do, use once and be ready for a difficult removal at least the first time.
The cable was about what I expected, a good value. The fact that it took two weeks to deliver (at order time it was listed as “in stock”) wouldn’t encourage me to seek more hardware from this supplier.
You plug one end in to one piece of equipment (game console, computer/laptop, internet-enabled audio receiver, etc…) and plug the other end into your cable modem or more likely a router. That’s it.
No need to buy super-premium ultra-high grade digital ethernet cables at a premium price when the AmazonBasics cable does the job, does it right, and does it at a price that doesn’t feel like highway robbery.
