I was so excited to take this out of the box, and as soon as I played the first 15 seconds of one of my records I started packing the unit back up. The speakers are AWFUL and the sound is harsh, strident and completely distorted. I am extremely disappointed and annoyed.

Waste of time.

When will we be able to scan a 78, 45, or 33 RPM 45 Rpm Needles record optically and “play” it with a “virtual needle”?
Or can we already?

    My Philco record player arrived yesterday, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I love it!! It plays all 3 speeds and comes with a 45 adapter. It is small, light, and easy to carry. I think the speakers are pretty good. It makes a slight buzzing noise when turned on, but you don’t hear it when the record is playing.

    I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS REVIEW………..ONLY THE RED PART CAME AND IT SAYS “SANYO” ON THE BOX LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE PHILCO PICTURE PLUS 6.99 SHIPPING TO SEND A 2 OUNCE NEEDLE ??? SAVE YOUR MONEY BUY A QUALITY REPLACEMENT FOR YOUR TURNTABLE ESPECIALLY IF YOUR LIKE ME AND STILL LIKE YOUR LP’S.

    I received my order yesterday and was surprised that the part I received did not look like the picture on the posting. I thought I was receiving what the picture showed, but I only received the red portion. I need the full unit. Have called Russell Industries twice and left messages for a return call.
    Have spoken to the representative about the order. He was very helpful and offered to have me return the needle. Instead I chose to purchase the “head” part of the unit and it is being shipped out now.

    Just be aware that the picture is not accurate and you will only receive the “RED” portion of the picture if ordering this part.
